A journey that never ends

I am so fortunate to have had such a loving mom, who led a completely unselfish life. Her whole life was full of sacrifices, putting her family's needs ahead of hers'. She was a great wife taking care of my father her entire life and even during her final days, did as much as she could for my father. My sister and I will miss a wonderful mother. She gave us so much love and affection, motivated us in our studies and our careers, was always there during our tough times giving priceless advices. I wish her grandchildren learned everything from her like my sister and I did. They will miss her love and wisdom. 2012 was not a great year for my mother. For the last 3 months she was struggling to get rid of an infection from her body. We had her hospitalized three times, got various infectious diseases experts to take a look at her, gave her a wide spectrum of antibiotics, but the disease could not be slowed down. During her last day, the infection became so serious that her bone marrow could not produce enough blood cells, her kidneys started failing and her lungs could not keep up. It all led to her losing the battle against this nasty infection on the 9th of May at 10.40 AM. I can only tip my hats to my mom's will power. She kept her fight against her disease going for as long as she could, so that she would have one more chance of seeing me, my wife and my son for one last time. Her last night before getting readmitted in the hospital, she had the pleasure of having her entire family by her side. That is the most important thing for my mother, her family. Her body might have been cremated, but her spirits will always be with us and guide us through our lives.
